About Tim

Biography
Tim is an abstract artist who, after a 20 year absence from painting, is back with a vengeance. He looks for pattern, shape and colour from the everyday as starting points for his paintings. Tim draws influence from Brutalism, pop art, situationalism and lyricism. He is as happy looking at a disused power station or the rubble of a building site as a beautiful sunset.
As Albert Giacometti said "The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity".
Tim's artistic journey began in his early twenties when he first explored abstract expressionism. After pursuing a career in design for two decades, he returned to his passion for painting, bringing with him a refined eye for composition and color theory.
His work has been exhibited in galleries across Europe and has been featured in several contemporary art publications. Tim's paintings are characterized by bold strokes, unexpected color combinations, and a sense of rhythm that reflects his interest in music.
When not painting, Tim enjoys teaching art to aspiring artists of all ages, sharing his techniques and philosophy with the next generation of creatives.
Artist Statement
"My work is an exploration of the urban environment – finding beauty in the overlooked, the decaying, and the industrial. I seek to create tension between order and chaos, structure and fluidity, inviting viewers to reconsider their perception of the mundane."
— Tim Voss
